Left Edge Percussion presents the livestream premiere of Josh Gottry’s Quintic – the winning composition from the 2020 Left Edge Percussion Composition Competition. Quintic was selected from 83 competition entires, coming from 18 countries on five continents! Originally to be premiered on our spring SOU Percussion Ensembles concert with Gottry in residence, the livestream premiere has been moved to October 10.

At the originally scheduled concert time on May 28, Left Edge Percussion released, through the Oregon Center for the Arts YouTube Channel, the socially-distanced video premiere of Quintic. Each member of Left Edge Percussion recorded their part from home, and then all five parts were edited together.

Now Left Edge Percussion brings Josh Gottry to SOU for the livestream premiere, as well as an interview with the composer, and the premiere of his marimba and vibraphone duo, Thanks for listening…, performed by Josh Gottry and Terry Longshore.
