The Southern Oregon University Percussion Ensembles, directed by Terry Longshore, will present “Deconstruction,” a fun, informal concert that will take several pieces from the ensemble’s current repertoire, and deconstruct them for the audience, providing a rare, up-close look into the compositions and performers including:

• Compositional elements and techniques

• Background on the composers

• Instruments used, their construction, etc.

• Rehearsal process, players’ experiences with the music, etc.

• Q&A with Terry Longshore and the performers
